Nowra Anglican College seeks to develop well-rounded students. The College has a history of achievement in many areas. Charitable initiatives guided by staff and implemented by student leaders and other students have greatly benefitted local, state, national and international agencies. The College is a regular partner of the Tabitha organisation and Year 11 students travel to Cambodia every year to build homes for poor villagers. Many of our students have participated in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme over the years, during which dozens of students have achieved Bronze and Silver Awards and four have achieved the Gold Award. The Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award is presented by the Governor of NSW and is widely recognised by employers and the community. The College is renowned in the Shoalhaven as a centre of excellence in the performing arts. The biannual musical is well known for its high quality staging, costumes and entertainment. Music Showcase evenings, recitals, and drama nights draw large audiences throughout the year. Our students also do extremely well in debating and public speaking. In 2006, our College Captain won the National Apex Public Speaking Competition. In the sporting arena, the College is also highly regarded. Every year many students are selected as part of representative teams – even through to State representation. |
