Nowra Anglican College has a rich history in the Creative Arts. Our students achieve outstanding results and enjoy creating meaning in the many mediums available. We provide students with access to fantastic resources, including a laser cutter, and 3D printers, as well as our kiln and other tactile media.
In 2017 all of our students studying in Visual Arts for their HSC attained a Band 5 or Band 6 which placed us well above average. In 2018 Ethan Munn was nominated for ArtExpress for his exceptional Visual Art Major Work entitled “Beautiful Mistakes”. We often have students participate in workshops at the National Art School. There are also opportunities for students to explore visual arts further through lunchtime clubs. Our teachers are experienced and support our students in a professional manner, allowing them to explore many forms of Art.
Design and Technology
Over the past few years, we are thrilled to have had outstanding results from Design and Technology. In 2018, Luke Huard and Margaux D’Ament were nominated for their exemplary Design and Technology major works. In 2016, Sally Woods was nominated and displayed in the Shape exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum for her Design and Technology lamp.
Across many years our students engage in the future forward STEAM learning. STEAM combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths. With the use of a broad range technology students problem solve and create and explore worlds beyond the imagining of their parents.
