We welcome you back to our beautiful library. I am thrilled to be the caretaker of this collaborative learning space so let me provide a quick update on your library.

The library has been a buzz of activity with senior classes in library main, mezzanine level classroom and study spaces. It certainly is a dynamic learning space and the wonderful library staff have been very busy allocating textbooks to all senior students.

Junior School classes are coming with their teacher to the library each week and have already enjoyed tasters of our many new books added to the collection. A reminder to please send your child’s library bag (Junior) and NAC identification card for Senior borrowing.

Digital Resources

Students can visit our Digital Library through their dashboard which is accessible any time through Library Training Resources. Here you will find help to access both our print and digital catalogue including eBooks, audiobooks, ClickView videos and databases.

The site provides guidance in referencing, evaluating, copyright, The Premier’s Reading Challenge and also book selection.

New Resources in Focus

A truly inspirational story The Great Realisation about Covid-19 has been written by author Tomos Roberts. This poem expresses a message of hope and resilience. It celebrates the many things that have brought us together as we have cast aside old habits and reflected upon what really matters to us. On World Read Aloud Day, 3rd February, a read aloud by the author was screened at lunchtime for all students to enjoy.

Another new resource Windows by author Patrick Guest, beautifully creates a world of gratitude through a window frame and is available at our NAC Library.

Happy reading all.

Janine McPherson,
Teacher Librarian
