Welcome to our Head of Junior School – Mrs Rachel Watt

“The wearer of smiles and the bearer of a kindly disposition needs no introduction, but is welcome anywhere.” ~ Orison Swett Marden

I am delighted to introduce our new Head of Junior school, Mrs Rachel Watt, who comes to us with an impressive background in education and leadership. Already in her first week at NAC, her wealth of experience, enthusiasm and passion for education has been evident.

Rachel joins us from Rouse Hill Anglican College where she has served for 13 years and has held the positions of Assistant Head of Junior School and the Junior School Learning and Enrichment Coordinator. Rachel has extensive experience and expertise in all areas of Primary schooling including the development of Christian education, pastoral care of students, mentoring of students, the NESA curriculum, operations, and improving literacy and numeracy across the entire Junior School stages.

Rachel has been involved in the development of the whole school teaching and learning framework at Rouse Hill which emphasises the growth in learning for each child. Her philosophy and experience align beautifully with our Building Learning Power approach with a focus on developing informed citizens who think deeply, develop grit and tenacity, perseverance and resilience.

Leadership is a passion for Rachel, being a member of the Rouse Hill Senior Executive team, and acting as a coach and mentor for staff. She is also experienced in presenting to staff and parents and we look forward to her sharing her expertise, particularly in the area of literacy.

Rachel has coached school Netball teams and led Christian Crusader groups.

Rachel demonstrates an authentic and deep Christian faith. Rachel’s husband Cameron and son Noah will join us later in the year. We warmly welcome them to the Shoalhaven.

Our new facilities

Our students are benefitting from the new Junior School playground in our Stage 1 area. In addition, the roof goes on our outdoor basketball/netball court this week. I am so looking forward to watching our students engage in this new space which will be ready soon.

Mrs Lorrae Sampson

Principal
