Positive Self-talk: How to use it

If you have found yourself in a sticky situation or a time of self-doubt, we have a solution for you. Positive self-talk is something that makes you feel good about yourself and things that are going on in your life. It can help your wellbeing and have a positive mindset. Positive self-talk has proven that it is helpful for your mental mindset.

Positive self-talk and a more optimistic outlook can have other health benefits, including:

  • Increased vitality
  • Greater life satisfaction
  • Improved immune functions
  • Reduce pain
  • Better physical well-being
  • Reduces the risk of death
  • Less stress and destress

For example, there were 2 groups of people with the same illness. They gave the first group and said: "Take this pill every day, this pill with not do anything it will not cure you". Then they gave it to the second group the same pill but instead said: "This pill will cure you, it will cure your illness". It turned out that the second group got better because of their positive mindset. The first group actually got worse because they focused on the negatives.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things. Philippians 4:8

Positive self-talk can help you in many situations.

When you try your best but you don't succeed, don't give up! Positive self-talk can help you not to give up! When you have come second in a race or in a math contest, remember to not talk yourself down and make yourself feel bad. Use positive self-talk to push through and keep your head high.

There is something that I know will help with self-talk, it's called the power of yet! The power of yet is when you add yet to the end of something to make you feel better. For example, I can't do this yet or I’m not good at this yet. Remember to use this in everyday life.

As you can see positive self-talk can help your mental self-talk and can make you a positive person in general. Think of the power of yet never give up no matter how hard it is or how hard it may be we have to push through. Tell yourself instead of I can't do this, say I can do this! But with positive self-talk your life we are better and become a more enjoyable person.
