You might think the difference you can make is insignificant. When we think about making a difference we fall for the myth that what we start out doing has to be enormous to have any effect. I've learned it doesn't.
All of us have had a spark of inspiration where we've wanted to do something to make a difference. Well recently the JS student leaders went to a leadership course where we learnt and were inspired to believe that a small action can make a big impact.
We organised lunch-time activities. These are inclusive games where anyone can join. The point of this is to have a supportive space where people can be themselves. A space where we hope friendships will be made while playing fun active games.
We have already seen positive outcomes, such as: people laughing and making new friends. Today, two girls came up to us telling us that they're so thankful because she found her best friend! This is exactly the result we hoped for and the point of this. To help people make lifelong friends.
We hope for this to continue, and we'd like to thank everyone who helped make this happen.
