2025 marks the beginning of an exciting journey for Year 5 students at Nowra Anglican College as we launch 'The Hive' —a dynamic outdoor learning experience designed to spark curiosity, foster collaboration and cultivate a deep connection with God’s creation.
During the holidays, our dedicated staff came together to prepare this special space, readying it for the hands-on learning adventures ahead. Garden beds were established, and herbs, vegetables and marigolds were planted in anticipation of the students' arrival.
To celebrate this launch, Year 5 students gathered in their first week to plant a mandarin tree. This tree—a generous gift from Mrs Sampson—was the very first plant chosen for The Hive and has been placed in a position of honour. It stands as a symbol of growth, resilience and the rich learning that will take place in this space. Just as the tree will bear fruit in time, so too will the experiences, discoveries and friendships nurtured here.
Already, it has been wonderful to see our students embracing The Hive—developing essential skills, deepening their understanding of God’s creation, and growing in wisdom, compassion and respect. And this is only the beginning!
Stay tuned as we share more about The Hive and the incredible learning that will unfold throughout the year.
